Most people think that some of the great cornerbacks are just totally gifted physically and that is why they are always making awesome plays but really it is because they are very smart and can anticipate what routes are about to come right to them and all they have to do is react and jump the Peyton Manning pass and take it to the house.

This video explains what routes are possible to come from a very wide split and what routes may come from a very tight split. Just to explain a split is where the wide receiver lines up on the line of scrimmage.
