NFL Cornerback Tip On What To Do If You Feel Like Your Coach Doesn’t Like You
How many times have I heared athletes say that the reason why they didn’t make it to the next level because some coach just didn’t like them. Well what if there was a way to try to get every coach you ever played for to like you. Even if they didn’t play you, they still really liked you and fought for you when the coaches had there coaches only meetings. It has to do with understanding that coaches are still human and have emotions and different personalities. It is called social intelligence, and I mention a few stories of my own and one story from one of the most influencial characters in American history, Benjamin Franklin.
You have to figure out what your coach likes and expects and then perfect that. Literally become friends with him and learn his philosophy and concepts for your first year. After that, your coach will feel comfortable and you will earn a certain level of trust. When this trust is gained, then you can start to try new things and politely question his/her views on subject, not to backtalk your coach but more to learn. Your attitude is the most important part of the whole process.
