Super star cornerback Darrelle Revis is a man who has faith in his abilities and is very confident! He also is very rich, signing a ground breaking new deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and announcing it April 22, 2013. Darrelle Revis was introduced Monday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and promised his new team “will make a lot of noise” in the upcoming season. Revis signed a six-year, $96 million contract that includes no guaranteed money which comes as a major surprise to many. Revis is set to make $16 million for each year of his 6 year deal. When Revis was asked how he felt about getting no guaranteed money he responded very confidently saying that he knows his contract is very unique and that he is willing to bet in himself. Revis possesses a confidence that has enabled him to become not only one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL but obviously one of the most valuable players in sports. His nickname “Revis Island” speaks to his unmatched ability to lockdown some of the most talented wide receivers and offenses in the NFL.
Revis, the former NFL All-Pro made expressed very clearly he wasn’t pleased with how the Jets treated him. He said he was caught off guard once he heard the New York Jets wanted to trade. Revis is returning from an ACL injury which was surgically repaired, evaluated and cleared as healthy. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were ranked last in the NFL in pass defense last year but the coaches believe they have turned a weakness into a strength by adding Darrelle Revis to their roster. Revis says there is no other place better to win than in Tampa Bay and he believes it’s a blessing the respect and admiration and admiration he gets from the Buccaneers organization.
